PURPOSE: To engage critically with Chapter 7 of Who Built America, vol. I.

PRODUCT: A critical summary of each week’s required chapter with all four required elements.

TASKS:

1. Read Chapter 7 of Who Built America, volume I, “Northern Society and the Growth of Wage Labor, 1790-183 Download Northern Society and the Growth of Wage Labor, 1790-1837.”

2. By 6 am Monday, March 6, complete a critical summary of this week’s reading and enter it below.

Each summary must include the following elements:

(a) a short “lead paragraph (Links to an external site.)” summarizing what you think are the most important points of the chapter;
(b) a description of the most interesting person, event, or idea in the chapter;
(c) why the person, event, or idea you chose is interesting to you; and,
(d) what was the most important change to northern society in 1790 and 1837, and why was it so important?
