This assignment is the first part of the larger course project: Creating a Biopsychosocial

a movie and create a genogram that describes the character, their family members,
relationship styles, and history. In the second part of the assignment, the course project,
you will complete a biopsychosocial assessment and an intervention plan.
Instructions:
1. You may choose from the following movies. Before you commit to a particular movie,
please make sure you have access to watch it outside of class. We will NOT watch
these in class. (Please contact your instructor if you are unable to watch one of
these movies due to access issues).
• Forrest Gump
• Girl, Interrupted
• Titanic – This is the one i’ll be picking
• Frozen
• A Beautiful Mind
2. From the selected movie, choose one character that you will use for this assignment
and the final course project.
3. Watch the movie, then write a one page movie overview that includes the movie title,
year made, the character you selected, and at what point in the movie you plan to
interview the client. Your overview should include a summary in your own words of
what exactly is going on in the plot and with your character at the point where you
plan to conduct the interview. (Note: you will work on the assessment and plan
components for the final course project. In this part you are selecting and describing
the point in the plot only).
4. Next create a genogram that describes the character of choice, their family
members, relationship styles, and history. You may draw the genogram by hand
(scan or take a legible picture for submission), use Microsoft Office, or a graphic
application of your choice to create the genogram.
