INFORMAL PROPOSAL
Think about a current problem that exists in your workplace and create an informal proposal (see Figure 10.2 in your textbook) that proposes how the problem can be resolved. Be sure to submit your informal proposal in .doc or .docx format.
Use the format in Chapter 10 of your textbook. Pay close attention to the descriptions of each section that must be included within your proposal.
The following is a brief overview of the organization of your proposal:
1: an introduction or description of the problem,
2: pertinent background information or a statement of need,
3: the proposal benefits and schedule for completion,
4: the staffing requirements,
5: a budget analysis, and
6: a conclusion that may include an authorization request.
IF THIS HELPS GUIDE
In the workplace, the Airbus A350 is facing a problem with its cabin lighting system. The current system has been causing inconvenience and discomfort to passengers due to its inconsistent and flickering lighting. The problem is not only affecting the passengers’ experience but also causing maintenance and operational issues for the airline. Therefore, it is essential to resolve this problem as soon as possible.
Background:
The Airbus A350 is one of the most advanced and modern aircraft in the market. The cabin lighting system is a crucial aspect of the passenger experience, and the current system is causing inconvenience to passengers and affecting the airline’s reputation. Additionally, the inconsistent lighting is making it challenging for maintenance personnel to diagnose and fix the problem, leading to increased maintenance costs.
Proposal Benefits:
The proposed solution is to upgrade the current lighting system to a modern, LED-based system that is more efficient and reliable. The new system will provide consistent lighting that is comfortable for passengers, reduces maintenance costs, and improves overall operational efficiency.
Schedule:
The schedule for the proposed improvement is as follows:
Research and development of new lighting system: 2 months
Installation of the new system: 3 months
Testing and verification: 1 month
The total time required for this project will be 6 months.
Staffing:
The proposed upgrade will require additional personnel, including:
Lighting system engineers
Installation technicians
The number of personnel required will depend on the size of the airline and the number of Airbus A350s in its fleet.
Budget:
The proposed improvement will require a significant initial investment, but it will result in long-term cost savings. The budget for the project will be as follows:
Research and development of new lighting system: $100,000
Purchase and installation of new lighting system: $500,000
Testing and verification: $50,000
The total cost of the project will be $650,000.
Conclusion:
The proposed upgrade to the Airbus A350’s cabin lighting system will provide consistent and comfortable lighting for passengers, reduce maintenance costs, and improve operational efficiency. We request authorization to proceed with this project as outlined in this proposal.
