The goal of this second essay is to compare the communities between at least two works of
fiction that we focus on this semester. You will need to use both informal research skills as well as
formal research skills. You will need to utilize at least two works of fiction to complete this assignment.
(Keep in mind: the goal is not to compare the two stories, but to compare the two communities. You will
use examples from the stories to prove this) Your essential questions for this essay is as follows: How do
the communities associated with each text compare and how do they influence the piece of work? To
do this you will need to research both the works you have chosen, the time period the work was written
in, as well as the society/community the work was based in. You will need to quote both your chosen
work(s) and your sources multiple times through this essay.
