Should financial institutions face more regulation, face less regulation, or do they already face sufficient regulation?

There is much evidence on both sides of the debate when it comes to the proper amount of regulation for the financial markets and institutions. Personally, I believe in more regulation but efficient process. As a CFE, I think one of the primary weaknesses lies in the way monitoring and supervision is done – mostly in an antiquated manner.
