Please provide corrections according to the guidelines below:
Below you will find the tasks, explanations, links, and helpful suggestions to guide you. Please remember to provide the link(s) for the review(s) which you will use as References, and include the reference in the text (in parentheses – author’s last name, year). For your References, remember to provide the information about the source, e.g. author, name of the publication, date in addition to listing the link. Giving only a link is not sufficient. If you quote the author of the review, use “…” make sure that you follow the English convention. If you paraphrase or summarize the reviewer’s words, make sure you use different words to render the meaning. Please make sure that you use the appropriate punctuation following the rules of what needs to be italicized or capitalized. Use The Yakima College Checklist as your basic guidelines. For the format, please use Times New Roman 12 and 1.5 line spacing. Below you will find a few options, which will give different opportunities for your scores, they are not identical, so please read them carefully to know what they involve. In all of these tasks, however, you are required to write a review of a review.
A few ideas about what you can comment on:
Does the review include the necessary elements?
Is this review a critical evaluation of a film/series/book which you chose to focus on? Does it have the appropriate balance between the summary and the evaluation?
Does it offer interesting and relevant comments? What does it comment on successfully? What is particularly interesting? What does it fail to mention? Does it misrepresent something about the film/series/book?
How is the review organized? Is paragraphing done properly – clear paragraphs, smooth links? Are there problems with the structure – sloppy organization, poorly developed ideas?
What is the language of the review? Does the author use rich vocabulary which helps to evoke the character of the film/series that is discussed? Can you give examples of particularly good phrases used?
What is your general impression? Is the review convincing? Would you offer anything else which could be mentioned? Do you agree with the opinion that was expressed in the review?
