After watching your chosen theatre production, we want you to put your theatre critic hat on.
You will discuss the elements of design AND the creative elements listed below:
–Elements of Design: Lighting, Sound, Set/Props, Costumes
–Creative Elements: Directing, Acting, Themes, Social/Political Relevance, Choreography/Movement (if any), Plot
Make this a cohesive review of this performance by clearly identifying each of the design and creative elements and connecting them to each other. Think about how each thing influences the storytelling. Did one thing hinder the production in some way? If so, explain why. Don’t just tell, SHOW. This critique should paint a clear picture of the production you saw. Refer to other theatre critiques which can be found on sites such as NYT Theatre Reviews Broadway World Florida Theater On Stage
Requirements:
-3 pg. minimum to 5 pg. maximum
-Font size & style: 12 point, Times New Roman; Double-spaced
-Works Cited: this is required and MUST to be on its own page; must include your citation of the performance you watched and any other sources you utilized to inform your work
-Page numbers: top right corner including last name and number; ex. “Lawlor 1” then “Lawlor 2” and so forth
-Proper header: first page, left alignment (Name, Instructor(s) name, Class, and Date)
