For this assignment, you will be expanding your knowledge about a particular area of interest for your final project and planning your paper (outline for this week). Please continue to work with the topic you identified in the prior weeks unless your received guidance from your instructor to do otherwise. A change in topic is not recommended at this point.

First, you must locate one more peer-reviewed source that discusses your chosen topic. A peer-reviewed source is one that goes through a process of review by a board consisting of professionals in a particular industry. For example, in psychology, that board would consist of people with a Master’s Degree or higher (often a Ph.D.) in psychology, counseling, or a related field. For this assignment, you will be expanding your knowledge about a particular area of interest for your final project and planning your paper (outline for this week).
Once you locate your article, read through it and take note of key information. Then, in one paragraph, please offer:
A short description of the article
A reason why you think it is valuable for understanding your topic better
Whether or not this article describes a research study with participants or if it describes other researchers’ work. If it is an actual study with participants, note whether they use quantitative data (numbers and statistics), qualitative data (describing qualities and including interviews or case studies), or mixed methods (a combination of quantitative and qualitative data). For a brief explanation of these definitions, you can check this video out:

Include a citation in either APA or MLA format for your peer-reviewed article
Second, you must develop an outline for your paper.
Outlines—yes, I know, many dread these. But the fact is that as your papers get longer, you will really need to rely on them to keep you on track. They are your roadmap for a paper that is structured appropriately.
Your outline for this project should contain the following information:
1.)Introduction – your thesis statement should be your last sentence (topic + three aspects you learned about your chosen topic when conducting research). You should include your thesis statement as a minimum here in the outline.
2.) First aspect of what you discovered about your topic through your research – include at least one sentence about what you will discuss in this paragraph
3.) Second aspect of what you discovered about your topic through your research – include at least one sentence about what you will discuss in this paragraph
4.) Third aspect of what you discovered about your topic through your research – include at least one sentence about what you will discuss in this paragraph
Optional: You may add a fourth aspect if you choose – include at least one sentence about what you will discuss in this paragraph
A personal response to these discoveries including creative recommendations for addressing relevant problems in a particular community – You do not have to elaborate on this yet if you’re not ready, but at least include this as a “space holder”
Conclusion- restate your thesis first, summarize the main points you made in your essay, then leave your reader with something to consider as a “takeaway” (i.e., what do these discoveries mean to the greater society?)
**Two options for layout:
Traditional alphabetic text in APA or MLA format
An infographic containing all of the required information. An infographic is a visual arrangement of the information that you may find to be more engaging. NOTE: You can create infographics using the free version of Canva: https://www.canva.com/create/infographics/Links to an external site.
Your paper should include one full paragraph for part 1 (5-8 sentences) and a completed outline with at least one sentence addressing each component.
If you need help citing…
