Step 1 Using your PICO question:
1. outline specifically what is your target population and your accessible population?
2. Explain the difference between an accessible and a target population.
(You may create another PICO question if you what to change what you previously wrote, but answer the same sample question.
Step 2 Read and respond to two other students’ posts by Friday 11:59pm MT.
Read other students’ posts and respond to at least two of them. Use your personal experience, if it’s relevant, to support or debate other students’ posts. If differences of opinion occur, debate the issues professionally and provide examples to support your opinions.

SHAYNA SAID:
The PICO question to be reviewed is to help patients with history of drug abuse. (P) will the use of opioids create a negative effect in their long-lasting lives? (I) Minimize the use of opioids in the name of pain control to avoid any all long lasting effects for their beneficence. (C) By comparing results with different patients and use a value scale of pain and categorize the need for opioids only if deem necessary. (O) Perhaps by not relying on opioids and using other methods of pain management, patients with drug history abuse would not get triggered and consider returning to lifetime of addiction. According to Donroe, J. H., Holt, S. R., & Tetrault, J. M. (2016, December 6) about 11% of patients exhibit ”red flags” when discussing their pain management treatment by showing eagerness towards the names of opioids or even knowing the side effects by memory without having any history of medical education. In most cases this patients have a history of drug abuse by being current addicts or patients who have been addicts in the past. By reviewing this PICO question, the main purpose remain wether a hospital serves as band-aid to longer medical condition such as addiction.
Explain the difference between an accessible and a target population.
Fetzer, S. J. (2020, August) refers to accessible population as the portion of the target population that the researcher has access to. While Target population are the overall idea of the population. For instance the reviewed PICO question, the accessible population would be the patients in the hospital. While the target population is the overall idea of future patients that could be triggered by the pain management medicines given at the hospital.
