Question 1: Georgetown University Law Center Personal Statement (approximately 2.5 pages)
Format:
I was drawn to injustice at a young age and helped the community security catch a thief. Though I only had to monitor and report to the securities the exact location of the thief, the experience resonated deeply with me. Since then, I have become more attuned to social injustices involving open public assault, domestic violence, child disappearance, sexual abuse, trafficking in human organs, and many more similar cases. Later in my teenage years, my egalitarian nature prompted me to pursue a career in criminal justice to serve those who are underrepresented and forced to accept the court’s final ruling.
After completing two academic years at Saint Joseph University, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and Business Administration, I transferred to the University of Florida to further my studies in Bachelor of Arts in Criminology: Criminal Law, Business Law, and International Law. Through taking courses such as Law and Society, Law and Legal Process, Theories of Crime, Juvenile Law, Criminological Research Methods, Wrongful Conviction, Mass incarceration, and Victimology, all related to Criminology, I learned to craft and write affidavits, case briefs, and case hypotheticals and reading and understanding case laws.
