With data volume growing exponentially within organizations, there is an increasing opportunity for the theft and unintentional disclosure of sensitive data. This year and beyond, organizations will need to put technology and practices in place to identify, monitor, and protect data at rest and in transit against external threats and insider attacks.

Navigate to “Introduction to Information Security,” module 1 of the course textbook and incorporate the four areas of impact listed in Table 1-6 (Consequences of a data attack). Discuss the importance of a data loss prevention plan and include examples of data loss prevention strategies that could be incorporated to reduce the risk of data loss in each of the four impact areas.
