Imagine you are a social media specialist. You are working on content for a new movement and have been asked to research the way the accuracy of information found on the Internet and social media impact social movements.
Some examples of appropriate topics include (you can select one from these or feel free to select another topic. if unsure on topic, reach out to instructor):
#Me Too movement
Transgender acceptance
Legalization of abortion in the United States
January 6th attack on the United States Capital
United States social justice movement
Create a 16-20 slide presentation with substantive, corresponding speaker notes for each slide that covers all of the bullet points:
Discusses the βmovementβ in detail by providing:
Timeline
History
Key players
Summary of the main issues
Discusses how social media impacted the movement, both positively and negatively
Identifies at least 10 sources related to the topic and analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of each of the sources. Determines/explains if each of the sources provide accurate information.
Explains your process of selecting sources and how you confirm the reliability of the source.
Include & cite at least 10 sources (any images used need to be cited but are not included in the sources used).
**The reason this is so long is that you have to provide at least 10 sources in the powerpoint related to the topic you select and then you need to go source by source and analyze the strengths/weaknesses of each source (so for this bullet, you are literally just focusing and presenting on the sources, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each of the 10 sources and then explaining for each of the 10 sources if you think each source is providing accurate information)
Students seem to get confused with this element of content. Look at the grade rubric for clarification and if unsure, feel free to reach out to me.
Format your Powerpoint according to APA guidelines.
