Fraud and Abuse, the Stark Laws and the Anti-Kickback Act.
Each of these negative practices can result in criminal or civil liabilities or administrative sanctions.
1. Please pick examples from article/website or book where individuals or companies have performed a negative or unlawful practice; 1) fraud or abuse and 2) kick back The organizations selected should have received a penalty from one or more of the above pieces of legislation/law. We will discuss the following questions along with others in our discussion OR please answer and submit in Canvas.
2. Please summarize the TWO examples you found in 3+ sentences each.
2. What penalty(ies) did the individual or group receive?
3. How could this practice/abuse have been prevented?
4. What are your thoughts on the violation and law that it violated or consequences received by the company or individual.
Please post your answers to the questions above and reply to another post with meaningful observation and reflection on their article which differs from your article. I will also post an example for comment.
