Government oversight in healthcare aims to protect the health of the public. A recent example is in a MOH publication https://www.moh.gov.sa/en/Ministry/MediaCenter/Publications/Pages/Publications-2019-12-25-001.aspx) that details the government acting to standardize the quality of dialysis water to ensure the safety of patients.
For this week’s discussion, provide an example of how a practice gap was identified and improved through government oversight, in order to enhance quality of patient care.
• Describe the practice gap.
• Analyze the patient and/or organizational impacts that may present if the gap was not corrected.
• Explain why the government regulation adds value to the delivery of care.
