Task:
1. Mothers: Explore the impact of mothers. Based on Trevor’s experiences, which lessons and pieces of advice from his mother benefited him the most? Why? Then, do some research on how this kind of advice and experiences can impact a child’s identity and sense of self and create an argument about it.
- As a note, it’s not always correct to say that a mother is the most important person in all children’s lives, so avoid making such statements. If you’re ever comparing parents/roles, make sure you have recent data and numbers to back it up!
Essay Requirements:
- 6-8 full pages in length (not including additional Works Cited page)
- use six* specific sources purposefully and in ways that help strengthen the credibility of your argument, at least 1-2 per paragraph.
- include one counter argument paragraph that responds to a point you have made in your essay.
- include a Works Cited page
- include a creative title that previews your essay

- At least six total sources that must include:

- 3: peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles accessed through the BC Library databases
- 2 additional sources, which can be a mix of peer-reviewed journal articles, books, credible webpages/news articles, or most other formats.
