1. Concept 1- Respect for Persons. Respect for persons incorporates two ethical convictions. First, that individuals should be treated as autonomous agents, and second, that persons with diminished autonomy are entitled to protection.
Concept 2-Beneficence. Persons are treated in an ethical manner not only by respecting their decisions and protecting them from harm, but also by making efforts to secure their well-being. The term beneficence is often understood to cover acts of kindness or charity that go beyond strict obligation. In this document, beneficence is understood in a stronger sense, as an obligation.
2.Type the question(concept) in bold font and put the answer in regular font.
Concept #1, “Individuals have the right to autonomy and thus to make informed decisions about and to consent to their care when they are competent to do so and to have respectful guardianship when they cannot be self-determining”. (Buchbinder, ) This requires patients be told about their condition and be informed about the risks and benefits before making any decisions. Examples of autonomy include respecting a patient’s decision, even if it contradicts the provider’s recommendation.
Concept #2, “Beneficence requires doing the best one can for the recipient of one’s services”. (Buchbinder, ) The beneficent practitioner provides care that is in the best interest of the patient. Beneficence includes coordinating patient care with other healthcare providers. Beneficence can also include educating patients about healthy lifestyle choices and ensuring patients’ medical needs are met.
#2. Prompt 2: Scenario: You just received a phone call from human resources at the company where you interviewed last week. Congratulations!
Is this company a good fit for you? Have you researched as much as you can to find out about the organization’s leadership and its mission, reputation, values, working environment, and culture? What do you know from the interview about your potential boss’s style of management? Is it compatible with your preferred style as an employee? Does the salary that HR is offering meet your needs? What about the benefits package? Are the work hours compatible with your family obligations? This is just a small sample of questions to ask yourself when evaluating a job offer. What is your process of evaluating a job offer?
Please Respond:
1. Prompt #1: It’s recommended to send a thank you email or note after the interview because anything can happen. This shows that you are still interested in the job even if you aren’t selected and that if something were to happen and it became available again you would more than likely be chosen. It also shows that you are professional and that the company can take that into consideration and maybe give you a position anyway. If you are accepted for the job it shows that you are respectful and very interested in the position and that you are appreciative of the time for the interview. Thank you letters or notes show the company that no matter what you are professional and appreciate the time they took to interview you. Showing the company that you are also very interested by keeping your name in mind by sending those letters.
