Purpose
As a degree requirement for the global health MPH program, all students are required to present their final capstone project to a public audience. This is an opportunity for students to show what they have accomplished and share their projects with the public health community.
Students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Interpret and communicate capstone outcomes and apply their relevance to specific public health areas
- Communicate audience-appropriate public health content tailored to a non-specialist public health audience
- Demonstrate proficiency in working with the knowledge base or research methods associated with their capstone project.
Each grant proposal should include the following:
- Title slide
- Overview
- Intro to the grant (proxy RFP to MN Common Grant)
- Outline of grant content
- Organization information
- Purpose of the grant
- Description of the problem
- Opportunities/Challenges: Lessons from the literature
- Goals & objectives (clarify timeline)
- Description of activities
- Evaluation plan
- Budget summary
- Significance (include notes on sustainability)
Format:
- Presentation should be prepared using PowerPoint
- Slides should be clear & concise
- Use graphics, tables, and visual aids
- Presentation should speak to a general public audience
