4.2 DB Officer Morale
Local police department morale has been weakened by a series of incidents, primarily involving the actions of one officer. This male officer is accused of overreacting to comments from citizens, committing physical abuse and stalking a woman he met while issuing a traffic citation. Some of the officers are divided over the seriousness of the alleged offenses because of their knowledge regarding past actions of some of the accusers.
As the captain in charge of human resources, how would you initiate an internal investigation, or not?

Should alleged officer misconduct be investigated by an Internal Affairs department or a civilian review board? Why? Support your beliefs.

Choose a problem behavior you would like to change in your police force or of an officer and do a balance of consequences analysis.
