This is one of the most common writing genres in college. You will write a paper to logically present your findings/argument to a specific audience. Your ultimate goal here is to offer an original solution to a problem, respond to an important question, provide new insight, or broaden scholars’ understanding of the issue you worked on. What is crucial in this piece of writing is to refer to/cite previously published research and to base your claims on the data you collected. Therefore, this project requires you to incorporate both secondary resources (your literature review) and primary resources (data you will gather for this project). Your research paper should include the following main sections:
Introduction: a clear description of the focus, the purpose of the study, a statement of the problem, and why there is a need for the current study (you can use parts of the intro you wrote for the proposal),
Literature review: Review 6-10 peer-reviewed resources relevant to your paper. The purpose here is to show the reader that you understand the academic conversation about the focus of your paper.
Results and discussion: where you state and discuss the results of your investigation about the previous studies you reviewed. You also discuss the implications of your findings (if applicable).
Conclusion: This section summarizes the study’s findings and addresses the “so what?” and “who cares?” questions.
You need to develop and produce a 7-10 page (excluding reference page), double-spaced research paper in APA style. You should upload your first draft and provide one of your colleagues with the required feedback to improve his/ her first draft.
