Below is an attachment of the information that is due as well as the PDF’s for the 2 stories that I need to use for this paper. Thank you so much in advance, I truly appreciate all of your incredible work!
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn about comparison and contrast writing by engaging in a comparison and contrast genre analysis. Engaging in this analysis will enable you to identify genre-specific features, literary elements, and rhetorical devices that writers use. At the same time, you will utilize these elements to write effectively in various writing situations targeting certain audiences for certain purposes.
Assignment Goals: This assignment has the following goals:
- To engage in a deep and thoughtful analysis of texts beyond the usual reading goal for comprehension in exposition.
- To experience writing as a process through submitting drafts and receiving and giving feedback.
- To understand how authors can achieve certain goals through writing.
TASK: For this assignment, you will choose any two texts that we have read so far to compare and contrast. You will look deeper than the surface of the text to craft an analytical response highlighting the similarities and differences in the stories, authors, and characters you choose. No outside sources are necessary, but students are encouraged to quote the two texts used to support their analysis. The two texts of choice will appear on the reference page.
Length & Format: You will need to write 3-4 pages (1,000 words is about 3 full pages) double-spaced pages, 12-point font, Times New Roman, and 1-inch page margins (follow APA format: title page, heading format, in-text citation, & reference list).
Formatting: Choose one of the two formatting options for your paper. (see syllabus for more information on the formatting).
