In this Assignment, you will continue to explore research design alignment through the lens of your own short research study. You will propose a qualitative research approach to address a public health issue, developing your qualitative research questions and conceptual framework, then developing interview protocols to address the research questions. You will consider the alignment of qualitative research questions, conceptual framework, and interview questions, and then evaluate the social change implications of your own short research study.
TO PREPARE
- Review the module Learning Resources, specifically those on qualitative research approaches (e.g., phenomenology, case study).
- Review the responses to your initial post in the previous Discussion. Note any insights you gleaned from your peers and Instructor.
- Consider how you may represent a visual depiction of your conceptual framework.
- Note: It is your decision to either write a narrative or visual depiction of your conceptual framework.
- Consider a qualitative research approach to address a public health issue.
- Note: It is your decision to either continue with the previous public health issue and research question for the basis of this Assignment OR select a new public health issue and developing new qualitative research questions. Either way, you are expected to develop your previous ideas incorporating feedback.

THE ASSIGNMENT
In a 4- to 5-page paper (not including title page and references)
- Describe the public health issue you selected, supported with recent literature. Include the relevancy of this issue to the public health field.
- Explain the qualitative research approach that you propose to address this public health issue and why.
- Develop a conceptual framework to address the public health issue.
- Develop two qualitative research questions (RQs) to address the public health issue (based on the conceptual framework).
- Note: If you have continued with the same public health issue as in the previous Discussion, one RQ can be the same as you previously proposed, however developed incorporating feedback.
- Develop a brief semi-structured interview protocol to address the RQs. For each RQ provide three to five open-ended interview questions (six to ten questions total for both RQs).
- Explain how your research approach and conceptual framework is aligned with your RQs and interview questions. Focus on the role of conceptual framework to connect the components of this short research study.
- Explain the potential social change implications related to the expected results of this short research study.
