FINAL PROJECT REQUIREMENT
For the final project each student will design and create their own individual animation with their best knowledge. *CANNOT BE A REPEAT OF OUR PREVIOUS LAB, NOR THE PROVIDED EXAMPLES BELOW. ANYONE DOING SO WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY CREDIT*
All project frame rates should be 24FPS.
You may choose to go Route A or Route B. You have to specify it on your project proposal.
All projects are due on March 20, 2023 before class. All students will present their project to the class in turn.
PROPOSAL
You are to type out your project proposal with your full name and student ID number on your project proposal. In your proposal you will describe in detail the route of your choice, and how you will approach it. You will describe the rough idea and the methods you will explore through the project.
Example:
Route A
I will hand draw or find online assets to create a talking car that travels through mountain sync to sing the song “Country Road.
Route B
I will use online assets to create a car that travels through the city over the song “Country Road During the animation the car will switch from Brand A to Brand B and the text will mask with animation over city signs we see. The car will experience breakdown, vanishing and jumpstart during its journey.
ROUTE A:
You will create a 30 second to 1 minute animation that contains a talking animated character
(can be drawn from scratch or you can find assets online, you may not re-use the monkey asset we used in lab)
Your animated character, if it is broken down into layers, needs to be layer parented.
Your animated character will live on an image, or patterned background (meaning not solid or rectangle.)
Your animated character will do a minimum of five actions throughout the duration of your animation. (wave, walk, swap instances, etc., use your imagination)
*Syncing to any speech or sound DOES NOT count as an action*
Your animation will contain a speech, or your favorite song, and you need to sync the mouth shape to sound on according layers.
ROUTE B:
You will create a 10 to 30 second animation that entails all of the following asks:
An image or patterned background (meaning not solid or rectangle.)
At least 3 objects, on according layers. Each of these objects should contain at least 5 sets of keyframes of animatable property values.
2 Text with animating shape using mask (Lab 9, we will go over this Monday)
2 instance swaps
6 tweens (either classic tween or motion tween, your choice)
1 background music
