Based on how you will evaluate your EBP project, which independent and dependent variables do you need to collect? Why?
The independent variable is the variable that stands alone and isn’t changed by the variables that are being measured. The dependent variable depends on other factors. When looking between two things a researcher is trying to find out what makes the dependent variable change the way it does. I am researching if midlines will decrease the level of trauma. Trauma is controlled by the quality of care and would be the independent variable. The measurable change in pain levels and number of attempts for iv insertion, if any, would be the dependent variable.
