In the past several years, threats to US critical infrastructure and
cybersecurity have continued to increase. Governments, businesses, and individuals
have all been targeted with exponential frequency. State-sponsored cyber
attackers and bad actors alike have recognized the value of disrupting critical
sectors and there is an urgency for the United States to address and mitigate
these rapidly evolving threats.
You will examine these increased threats to cybersecurity and critical
infrastructure sectors as well as potential mitigations in this 3-4 page
critical analysis paper.
Step 1: Consider the prompts
- What sector(s)
do you believe are the most critical to national security and why? - What threats do
you see increasing and how might they be addressed?
In approaching this assignment, you might focus on a specific sector and
its unique threats or consider the impact of one sector upon another.
Step 2: Research your response

Materials pages (including the provided Research Sites), as well as our M4 Module
Notes presentation to support your position.
- It is essential
that your responses be based upon scholarly readings and should remain at
all times defensible (in an academic sense). As is the case with every
assignment in HEM 125, presenting any unsubstantiated, illogical, or
indefensible position will have an adverse effect on the final grade.

Note that 750 words are approximately 3 pages of double-spaced 12-point
font text. References and title pages do not count toward word requirements.
Your paper should be saved as a Word document (.doc, .docx, or .rtf) or
PDF.
Step 4: Ensure your paper adheres to
APA formatting.
The assignment should be formatted according to APA-style documentation.
