For people to be healthy, their central nervous systems need to function properly. Abuse of illegal drugs and other substances (such as alcohol) can have negative effects on people’s central nervous systems.
Choose one illegal drug and one legal substance. What effect does each have on the CNS?
Do you think either drug or substance should be illegal? Explain.
Should the legal substance have more detailed warning labels that alert users to its possible effects? Why or why not?
