1. Describe workplace health, safety and wellness practices within the Canadian legal environment.
2. Describe employer and employee obligations for the provision of a safe workplace.
3. Evaluate the appropriateness of different health and safety initiatives in light of current research and trends in the field.
4. Design and/or critique workplace health, safety or wellness policies or interventions which address employee and organizational needs.
Activity:
Note there are two questions to be answered.

As a recreational facility employee:

Clearly identify your current role (as a front desk person) and the kind of organization you work for (Recreation Facility; with a fitness area, gymnasium, aquatics (pool and tub), etc.)

Identify 5 workplace hazards, one of each type (physical, chemical, biological) and two psycho-social. Explain them clearly.

For each hazard, assess the risk. (high, medium or low)

For each hazard, propose a mitigation strategy. Describe it in detail.

For each hazard, state whether training would be a useful strategy. If so, what is the topic of the training and who is to be trained? If not, why not?

Based on the internal responsibility system, what is one change you will make in your own behaviour concerning OHS? Why make this change?
