Read the play Macbeth by Shakespeare and answer each of the 3 discussion questions seperately and reply to 1 student for each.
Do you believe that Shakespeare’s works should be taught in high school today? Why or why not? Consider, the following questions to help you decide on your position:
Are the lessons in his plays still applicable to today?
Why are there so many spin offs and adaptations of his works still being created?
In what ways did he contribute to English Literature and Society?
Lesson 5 Wearing masks
In this act, Macbeth is discussing hiding his true self. This same idea is expressed several times in the play as wearing masks.
On the discussion board called “U4L5: Wearing Masks” describe a time when you weren’t yourself. What was the result? Is there ever a situation where it is good to be a little deceptive or hide your true self/intention?

Lesson 7 Macbeth on trail
The trial is set! Pretend you are a lawyer either prosecuting or defending Macbeth. Decide whether Macbeth is evil or whether he is just a puppet manipulated by his wife and the three witches. Was Macbeth was entirely responsible for his actions or can he be excused from total blame?
You task is to choose one other character from the play to call in as your witness. Write up the questions you would ask and the answers they would give to either defend or testify against Macbeth.
Post your script to the discussion board called “U4L7: Macbeth on Trial”.
