Professor’s
instruction:
Please refer to pages 47-50 of the textbook for guidelines on how to draft
an RFP. There is no single standard template to prepare an RFP so you may adapt
the textbook guidelines to create your own version. Since all projects are
unique, the preparation and documentation of your RFP must be adapted
appropriately.
Large and complex projects may have an RFP that is several hundred pages
long and would be available for contractors to pick up from the customer’s
office. However, with smaller projects, it is possible that the entire contents
of the RFP could be published in a newspaper advertisement. Since you are not
expected to post your RFP in a newspaper, the RFP you develop must include all
the information required for a potential contractor to formulate an adequate
response (a proposal) to the RFP.
The RFP will not be evaluated on the length of your research or the volume
of details, but rather on the quality and pertinence of your research. In terms
of grading, you will be evaluated on the exhaustiveness of your approach; you
should ensure that all aspects of the subject matter of your project are dealt
with appropriately and documented properly.
Each group should start a few discussion threads relating to different
aspects of working on this project.
