Objective:
To develop an understanding of the Project Development Cycle and the roles and responsibilities of the architect, owner, and contractor in a design project.
Tasks:
1 Research: Students should research and study the Project Development Cycle as outlined in the UAP Document 202. They should understand the different phases of the cycle, such as Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Bidding and Construction Documentation, and the different activities involved in each phase.
2 Analysis: Students should analyze and identify the roles and responsibilities of the architect, owner, and contractor in each phase of the Project Development Cycle. They should also identify the different contractual relationships that exist between the architect, owner, and contractor.
3 Graphical Representation: Students should create a graphical representation of the Project Development Cycle and the responsibilities of the architect, owner, and contractor for each phase. They can use flowcharts, diagrams, or other visual aids to illustrate the relationships and activities involved in each phase.
4 Case Study: Students should select a design project in the philippins and analyze how the Project Development Cycle was implemented and how the responsibilities of the architect, owner, and contractor were carried out. They should also identify any challenges or issues that arose during the project and how they were resolved.
5 Presentation: Students should present their graphical representation of the Project Development Cycle and the responsibilities of the architect, owner, and contractor for each phase. They should also present their analysis of the case study and their recommendations for how the Project Development Cycle and responsibilities can be better implemented in future projects.
