- What are executive functioning skills?
- How might the lack of age-appropriate executive functioning skills present in the classroom?
- What can you do as a teacher to help build students’ executive functioning skills?
For purposes of this assignment, you can choose 3-5 skills on which to focus. Be sure to fully answer the question and consider the categories of the rubric in order to earn full points. You should use a minimum of three (3) sources and cite them in the paper and on a reference page using APA. The total for this paper is 35 points.

Next, you will read two chapters from executive functioning experts Dr. Peg Dawson and Dr. Richard Guare. The first chapter delves into what exactly executive functioning skills are and how they can manifest in children who have yet to develop them at an age-appropriate level.

Read pages 1-25 (chapter 1) and pages 71-80 (chapter 5). The entire book is worth reading, but for the purposes of this unit, only chapters 1 and 5 are required.
The second chapter gives 10 useful ideas on how to help students develop better executive functioning skills.
