- Of the four dramatic works we’ve read in this class, choose one that you feel speaks most loudly to our current contemporary moment and the issues we face as Americans today. Your essay will make the argument that your chosen play depicts a particular theme that you feel is not only the most relevant, but also the most pertinent. In addition to describing the play’s key theme, you will also include an analysis/discussion of no fewer than two dramatic literary elements devices that the playwright uses effectively to underscore/develop the play’s central theme.

- Be sure to support your response with textual evidence (quotes and citations) from the play itself.
- Make use of at least three scholarly sources to support and develop your ideas. Our course text may serve as one of these three sources.
