Oedipus states;

that brought this bitter bitterness, my sorrows to completion.
But the hand that struck me

Why should I see
Whose vision showed nothing sweet to see?”
Oedipus Rex ends with the assertion of the power of the Gods over Oedipus . His fate was inherited from Laius and Jocasta’s heresy and blasphemy. Their lack of belief in the Gods’ prophecy and power over mortals; however, Oedipus remains in control. Have the Gods’ broken Oedipus ?
