Final presentation involving video clip presentation of one voice with a discussion of voice and articulation parameters of the subject. Student chooses any actor’s voice with a vocal/articulation difference or dialectal difference and finds a short youtube clip (30 seconds) of their speech/voice and presents information about the actor/actress in class presentation and uploads a written paper to Canvas. The student should analyze each person’s background and explain possible reasons for the subject’s vocal/dialectal difference. Then discuss specific examples of the actor/actresses’ voice and articulation in the setting in the video clip. Discuss your own voice in the last paragraph as well. The written paper is about 2-3 pages. Cite your source for background information about the actor/actress. In the presentation in class: show short Youtube video clip (30 seconds) and describe the actor/actresses’ background and explain possible reasons for the subject’s vocal/dialectal difference. Then discuss specific examples of the actor/actresses’ voice and articulation in the setting in the video clip and overall vocal qualities.
