analyze the documentary: “Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things,”

(for this assignment I’ve included my notes from the film and the chapters from my textbook)

For this 5-page assignment, you will analyze the documentary: “Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things,” and evaluate (strengths and weaknesses) and discuss (explain) how concepts of the textbook/class are showcased in the film.

Content
The critical thinking essay needs to include an introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction should get my attention, identify the purpose of the paper and provide a thesis. Be sure to include your overall opinion regarding if you feel the documentary did a good job of providing information needed to draw conclusions about the topics in the textbook.
Your main points (the body of your essay) should work to critique the film by explaining the following concepts:
• What is minimalism and why has this lifestyle trend grown in popularity?
• What does the minimalism lifestyle mean for the communication arts/media industry?
• How can the communication arts/media industry play to the minimalism lifestyle?
• Be sure to include information from your textbook chapters (Chapters 24, 25, 27)
• Do you believe the film itself is a credible source? Why or why not?
• Clearly explain your argument on where you stand with the arguments in the film.
Be sure to begin the body of your paper with a two-paragraph summary of the overall messages of the film. The remainder of the body of your essay should utilize textbook concepts (in your own words with in-text citations) and at least four (4) other forms of credible source support. Overall you will have 6 credible sources (one being the textbook and the second being the film). Be sure to include in-text citations, and include definitions in your own words of the concepts bulleted above.
Conclusion paragraph: This paragraph should begin with a transitional statement bringing us back to the basis of your argument. The conclusion should also have a thesis restatement, and summary of main points/critiques. You will end this paper with a statement telling me what you want me to do/think/believe/know (the clincher).
Writing/Mechanics
You are required to have the following elements:
