ARTICLE SUMMARY (1 points): briefly summarize the article (include an APA citation)
2) HEALTH DISPARITIES (1 points): apply the content of the article to your understanding of health disparities (e.g., describe what type of health disparity is being described, how you know it is a health disparity, etc).
*Here is an example. “My article described an age disparity with COVID-19. I know this is an age health disparity because the article discussed how older adults are disproportionately dying of COVID-19 as compared to younger adults…”
*QUICK TIP: if you don’t choose an article that discusses health disparities it will be very difficult to complete this section. You should strongly consider choosing a new article.
3) BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL MODEL (6 points): Apply the content of the article to the biopsychosocial model. Describe how the health conditions mentioned in the article may affect people biologically, psychologically and socially. If your article doesn’t specifically address one of these components, you can use your best judgement to apply the article in a way that would make sense with the overall topic.
4) ECOLOGICAL MODEL OF HEALTH (10 points): Using the Ecological Model of Health, identify interventions at each level that would help to reduce the health disparity discussed in the article. The best answers will use components from actual, real-world intervention programs; therefore, you will be required to do research to identify these interventions. If you are relying on your opinion, you are not doing this section correctly. You may not be able to find one program that addresses each level of the model, but you can mix and match models – just be sure to cite and reference the models. You should organize it in this manner to include 5 different paragraphs:
Intrapersonal (include a citation)
Interpersonal (include a citation)
School/Work (include a citation)
Community (include a citation)
Policy (include a citation)
*Reminder: Simply saying vaccines work at the interpersonal level will not meet the requirements of this paper. Do not support your interventions with your personal common knowledge. You need to support all interventions with evidence-based research findings. It is also possible that the same intervention would apply to multiple levels. If you take this approach, you need to clear describe how the intervention applies to each level differently.
5) REFERENCES (2 points):
Be sure to include APA style in-text citations of your article and an APA-style reference section. If you are recording the presentation, you should have your citations included on the actual slide where you discuss the information, as well as on a concluding References slide.

You MUST include in-text citations and APA style references for all of the interventions that you discussed in your intervention sections.
Be sure to use APA (American Psychological Association) style formatting so please be sure to look up how to do this on Purdue OWL (https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/general_format.html).
Your final paper should include multiple APA style references. You need one for the newspaper article and multiple citations for each intervention. If you have fewer than 4 references you likely have not completed the paper according to expectations.
