Gender stereotypes are widely accepted beliefs and generalizations about characteristics and behaviors in girls, boys, men and women; in addition, gender stereotypes dictate what roles are appropriate for each. What is the negative impact gender stereotyping has on individuals and society as a whole? For this assignment, your essay will focus on the following:
Find a central topic based on the negative impact of stereotypes and or gender bias in children’s literature. Utilize a minimum of three different articles from a scholarly source such as .org, .edu and or .gov and three references from the Canvas modules to develop and support your thesis.
Your essay must include two of the following:
the history of multicultural literatures attempt to counter stereotypes
the impact of biased children’s literature in education
how inclusive multicultural children’s literature inspires us to think more critically about equality and justice

Each essay must include a cover page and reference page.
Each essay should be approximately 4 plus numbered pages. This does not include the cover and reference page.
Essay must follow APA guidelines: Purdue Online Writing Lab
Each essay must have the following regarding APA:
3 APA formatted quotes derived from a scholarly source such as .org, .edu and or .gov
3 APA formatted quotes derived from EDUC 121 Canvas course and or lectures.
Essay should be of quality writing with supporting evidence and documentation. The content of your written work should reflect your careful and thoughtful consideration of the ideas we are exploring in the various readings.
Points can be deducted for not including the following:
cover page minus 5 points
reference page minus 5 points
page numbers missing minus 5 points
APA format missing minus 5 points
