Describe how specific changes in technology, media, the economy, and/or demographics led up to and made Progressive Rock music (as described and defined in the textbook) possible.
A mere opinion will NOT be accepted. As with any college-level scholarly paper, you MUST support your views with citational reference to authoritative sources (You must cite at least two sources e.g., the textbook, authoritative peer-reviewed journals, authoritative websites, etc…) Citation of sources that are not recognized authorities in the scholarly field of music and/or musicology will not be accepted.
Write between 250 and 300 words (not including footnotes, bibliography, or inline references – 250-300 of your own words). Because of the word count restriction, you will likely need to get right to the point and dispense with any and all unnecessary information. The restriction of word count is part of your challenge in this assignment. Submissions above or below the requisite word count will not be accepted.
A formal scholarly style of writing will be required at all times and casual posts with poor grammar and little or no evidence of mindful forethought, research, and composition will NOT be accepted. If either post demonstrates poor grammar, casual or little effort to make a strong supported argument, lacks required citational support, or goes below or above the required word-count you will receive a zero for that portion of the essay assignment.
