Students will interview a current clinical social worker. The purpose of this activity is to enable students to incorporate the <\/span>knowledge they have acquired about ethical social work practice in the military, begin to develop <\/span>active listening skills, exercise self-examination skills related to ethical social work practice in <\/span>the military, and integrate information from classroom discussions and readings in the <\/span>examination of a personal interview with an active-duty social worker. This interview should <\/span>include the following components: (1) Background information on the interviewed social worker<\/span> (2) Describe the primary role the social worker fulfills (Explain how the role and <\/span>duties fulfilled by the officer interviewed are consistent with social work values and principles or <\/span>are not consistent with social work values and principles); (3) Describe an ethical situation or <\/span>the dilemma the social worker has experienced as a military social worker; (4) Describe who and <\/span>what was involved in this ethical situation; (5) Discuss the social worker\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s personal values <\/span>related to this ethical situation; (6) Explore the professional values and legal or regulatory <\/span>requirements that were important for the social worker to consider in resolving this ethical <\/span>situation; (7) Explain how the social worker resolved this ethical situation, emphasizing which <\/span>value(s) influenced their decision; (8) Summarize your thoughts and feelings about this i<\/span>nterview. Describe your impressions of how the interviewed social worker addressed ethical <\/span>issues based upon what you know about social work values, principles, and ethical standards. <\/span>How would you have addressed this issue if you were this social worker? Explain your rationale <\/span>for choosing a course of action that may be different or consistent with the interviewed social <\/span>worker.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
