\n Learning Goal: <\/b>I’m working on a research & summaries question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.<\/p>\n

In order to conduct social science research using human subjects<\/em> as research participants, researchers must complete a course on research ethics sponsored by the Collaborative IRB Training Initiative Program (CITI). The certificate provided at the end of the course must be submitted with each research project submitted to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for review and approval. No human subjects research can be conducted at FIU without first obtaining IRB approval.<\/p>\n

Although you will not be collecting data in this course<\/em>, you may need the certificate for future research projects<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The steps in the process are as follows:<\/p>\n

Required CITI IRB Online Training for All Researchers (Initial Training)<\/strong><\/p>\n

***Note the training course contains 13 modules with a mandatory quiz at the end of each. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Please follow the directions below to sign up for an account on the CITI website:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to http:\/\/www.citiprogram.org<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. As a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153new\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd user, you will need to click \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Register\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd.<\/li>\n
  3. Select \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Florida International University\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd from the Participating Institutions.<\/li>\n
  4. Complete the required registration fields and contact information and click submit.<\/li>\n
  5. You will need to select \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Human Subjects Research\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd from the CITI Enrollment web page and click next.<\/li>\n
  6. Select the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Social & Behavioral Human Research Investigators Course\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd and click submit.<\/li>\n
  7. A table will be displayed listing the course(s) you are enrolled in. You can begin the course by clicking on the course name.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You will have the opportunity to save or print your Training Certificate Completion Report<\/strong> containing your exam scores and transcript. Note this is a 2 page report. Please upload a copy of your Completion Report <\/strong>to indicate completion of this assignment.<\/p>\n

    ***<\/strong>Your grade for this assignment will be your Current score<\/em><\/strong> on page 2. Therefore, I MUST receive a copy of your Completion Report<\/strong> in order to give you a grade for this assignment.<\/u><\/p>\n

    Remember to save a copy for your records. The FIU IRB Office does not issue certificates of CITI training completion.<\/p>\n
