To beflexible intercultural communicators, we must increase ourself-awareness and awareness of others (Ting-Toomey & Chung, 2012).Further, we must develop a layered sense of understanding by realizingthat many cultural, ethnic, situational, and personal factors shape andaffect any intercultural communication moment (Ting-Toomey & Chung,2012). It requires time and patience to work out cultural differencesconstructively (Ting-Toomey & Chung, 2012). Ting-Toomey and Chung(2012) provide eight principles to increase our conceptual understandingin Chapter two.<\/p>\n

For this activity, you will create a one-page, infographic todemonstrate your learning of these eight principles. You can usetechnology such as Canva, PPT, or Google Slides to create a one-pageexpression of your learning. Creating our own patterns helps us tolearn. This one-pager connects to both the verbal and visual learningstyles, connects to what you’ve read and experienced over these last fewclass periods, and connects words and images. In short, this one-pagerbecomes a metaphor for the learning you’ve done.<\/p>\n
