For each reading you will write at least one paragraph (you are welcome to write more if you wish), in which you will answer the following questions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<ul>\n<li>What did you not understand or find new and challenging from the reading?<\/li>\n<li>What questions for class discussion did it raise?<\/li>\n<li>What did you find most useful in the reading?<\/li>\n<li>What new terms and concepts were contained in the reading?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note that these reading questions\/reflections should <i>not<\/i> be a summary of the readings. The purpose is: 1) that you demonstrate you have done the reading and given thought to it \u00e2\u20ac\u201c WE WILL LOOK VERY CAREFUL THAT YOU DEMONSTRATE YOU ACTUALLY DID THE READINGS; 2) to identify what you think is important to discuss in class in relation to the course.<\/p>\n<p>More requirements:<\/p>\n<p>3-4 double spaced pages or 1-2 single spaced discussing your thoughts on the readings and the documentary. You should NOT summarize the readings but rather discuss them in a way that shows you have done the readings and thought about them.<\/p>\n<p>This is not a paper and it need NOT be formal academic writing.
