You will consider the rhetorical approaches to effective persuasion and examine how a speaker, or a rhetorician attempts to persuade their audiences, both subtly and overtly. Keeping in mind the things we&#8217;ve discussed- what rhetorical choices does the speaker or writer employ, and to what effect?<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">-This unit will hone the skills practiced in the first unit and introduce students to Aristotelian appeals(logos,pathos,ethos) and rhetorical situations(purpose, audience, genre). Students will asses a text in order to develop and prove an effective analytical thesis.
