    What were the major points of contention between the Federalists and the Anti-federalists? How do those points of contention underlie the structure of government that resulted from the Constitution?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Americans often say they dislike the conflict of American politics. In what ways did the framers build points of conflict or tension into the constitutional system? Why did they do this?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The diversity of state laws and procedures creates situations that may seem unfair to many citizens. For example, felony conviction rates can lead to different prison sentences in various states. In addition, some state legislatures invest more in public education than others. Should federal officials exercise more power to require greater uniformity in policy among the states? What policies would you like to see equalized, if any? Why?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: The 3 questions could be linked, you may address them collectively or separately (some freedom here).<\/p>\n

    Expectations<\/strong><\/em><\/span>: Each student is expected to fully address the topic in the discussion questions, and spark a real conversation on line and you’re also expected to respond to at <\/span>least two (2) students <\/span><\/strong>in this discussion. I will be monitoring this conversion and might add clarifying contribution if need be.<\/p>\n
