The price for the DVD + streaming<br \/>\nplan would be raised from $10 to $16. The rate hike caused a loss of subscriber<br \/>\nbase to the tune of 1 million [reported in the following article in the&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Huffington<\/span><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">&nbsp;Post&#8221;&nbsp;<a style=\"cursor: auto;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/09\/15\/netflix-price-increase-subscriber-loss_n_964026.html<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;]<br \/>\nand a huge drop in the share price of&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Netflix<\/span><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">. The company defended its decision and implemented the change<br \/>\nnonetheless.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><u style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Case 2<\/span><\/u><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">: Around September 2011, Bank<br \/>\nof America announced that, beginning in early 2012, it would start charging its<br \/>\ncustomers $5 a month for using their debit cards [the following is an article<br \/>\nfrom the Christian Science monitor:&nbsp;<a style=\"cursor: auto;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">http:\/\/www.csmonitor.com\/Business\/2011\/0930\/Debit-card-fees-Why-Bank-of-America-will-charge-5-for-debit-card-use<\/span><\/a>.<br \/>\nFollowing the tremendous backlash from credit card holders, the company<br \/>\nabandoned its plans and did not implement its new fee.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><b style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Required:<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"padding: 0in; font-size: 9.5pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Compare and contrast the two cases.
