These readings and the opportunity to practice formal analysis will be useful for when we undertake the first exam, as there will be at least one question devoted to formal analysis.  <\/p>\n<p>Your formal analysis must address how the artwork represents &#8220;patriotism and virtue&#8221; as discussed by Thomas Crow in Chapter 1 of our textbook (i.e. this week&#8217;s reading).
