This assignment is designed to put <\/span><\/span>geography in action<\/span>.  Geography is a highly applied science that    has great relevance to the events and activities that surround us daily.<\/span>

This assignment is to be written <\/span><\/span>from the perspective of a geographer<\/span>.  Throughout this essay you     <\/span><\/span>must<\/span> <\/span>have <\/span><\/span>explicit discussion<\/span> <\/span>of and use of geographic analysis \u2013 terms and approaches such as:         spatial analysis, spatial distribution, spatial variation, spatial diffusion, where and why, human               environment interaction, pattern, process, etc.<\/span>

It is vital that you explore this topic within a geographic framework.  <\/span><\/span>It must be absolutely clear that      this is an essay written for a geography course.<\/span> <\/span>You should explicitly discuss the geographic                 perspective and use spatial analysis to explore your topic.<\/span>

I am most interested in your ability to demonstrate your understanding of geography (themes,               concepts, and approach), and your ability to apply that geographic understanding to the given AGP                      (A Geogrophers perspective) topic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Assignment:<\/u><\/span> <\/span>Everything on the earth has a location and occupies space – from smaller scale objects (a remote control on your coffee table) to larger scale objects (a building or the North American continent).  Of course, you are somewhat aware of space, but to really \u201csee\u201d the space around you, you must use <\/span>a geographer\u2019s perspective<\/i> <\/span>based on spatial analysis to examine and understand patterns and distributions on earth\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

This assignment asks you to <\/span>conduct spatial analysis in your daily life<\/span>.  How do <\/span>you<\/span> <\/span>use space?  How do <\/span>you<\/span> <\/span>organize your space?  <\/span>Ask yourself <\/span>where<\/i> <\/span>and <\/span>why<\/i> <\/span>questions.<\/span>  What about your living room, bedroom, closet, or kitchen?  Where do you tend to sit in class or park your car in a lot?  Think of your daily routine in a spatial context: wake up from sleep, take a shower, eat, drive, go to school and work, play sports, visit friends, go to dinner or a movie \u2013 <\/span>all<\/i> <\/span>of these activities are spatial!  Do <\/span>not<\/span> <\/span>write a timeline of your day – conduct spatial analysis!  Answer <\/span>where<\/i> <\/span>and <\/span>why<\/i>!  (For instance: where do you put your car keys at night and why?)  You will probably be surprised when you realize the vital role that space plays in your daily life.<\/p>\n
