These goals aim to promote sustainable development across the globe, by addressing social, economic, and environmental issues. The importance of sustainability has become increasingly evident in recent years, as the world faces various challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and poverty. Sustainable development is defined as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The SDGs provide a comprehensive framework for addressing the most pressing issues facing our planet. They include goals such as ending poverty, achieving gender equality, providing access to clean water and sanitation, and promoting sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n

Sustainability is important for several reasons. Firstly, it is essential for the preservation of our planet and its resources. The earth’s resources are finite, and we must ensure that we use them in a responsible and sustainable manner to ensure that they are available for future generations. Secondly, sustainability is important for social and economic development. Sustainable economic growth and development can create jobs, improve living standards, and reduce poverty. By ensuring that development is sustainable, we can create a better world for all people. Finally, sustainability is important for global stability and peace. Many of the challenges facing our world today, such as climate change, are global in nature and require a coordinated effort to address. By working together to promote sustainable development, we can build a more peaceful and stable world.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/span><\/h3>\n

For this assignment, students will assume the role of a business analyst team, and your task is to apply the design thinking approach to come up with a solution that utilises technologies and\/or information systems, to address one or more sustainability issues in one of the following industries in Vietnam:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Transportation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Your business analysis report will identify the relevant sustainability issue(s) (of the 17 SDGs mentioned above<\/em>) in the chosen industry, argue for its importance, then you will describe your proposed solution, identify the technological tools or software applications, as well as the challenges and difficulties in implementing such solution.<\/span><\/p>\n

    More details about the business analysis report are as followed.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The report will cover the following sections:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    • Introduction<\/strong> <\/span>(~ 200 words)<\/span>\n
        \n
      • Overview\/Background of the business case<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Briefly explain the motivations and the proposed solution<\/span><\/li>\n
      • State the report purpose and report structure<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Analysis<\/strong> <\/span>(~ 1600 words)<\/span>\n
          \n
        • Define the relevant concepts<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Identify the sustainability issue(s) that need to be addressed and explain their importance<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Define the relevant stakeholders (e.g., those who implement\/use\/benefit from the solution, or those who can influence it<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Identify the challenges or difficulties that need to be overcome to successfully implement the solution<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Identify the technological tools or software applications and their features, as part of the proposed solution, to address the sustainability issues as mentioned above<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Recommendations<\/strong> <\/span>(~ 1600 words)<\/span>\n

          • Recommend the solution to integrate the technologies discussed in the analysis part. Be specific on the advantages or benefits of the integration of proposed technologies to overcome the identified challenges\/difficulties and achieve the goals<\/span><\/li>\n

                  • You are expected to conduct literature review to support your discussion in the report, especially in the analysis part.<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Your literature review needs to be from reliable sources and no older than 10 years old (except for relevant, seminal works and for those proposing the theories). You are expected to have at least 10 reliable references for the report.<\/span><\/li>\n
