For this lesson\u2019s assignment, you will write an 8 page paper that provides a compilation of prioritized controls to satisfy compliance needs for your choice of an organization on a U.S. public stock exchange. The organization must be within the <\/span>healthcare<\/em>, <\/span>finance and banking<\/em>, or <\/span>retail <\/span><\/em>sectors. For the selected organization, take into consideration its critical infrastructure sector to help determine appropriate laws and regulations that need specific compliance needs. Include <\/span>all <\/span><\/strong>jurisdictions that can apply and determine the controls needed.<\/font><\/p>\n

Instructions<\/font><\/h2>\n

Select an organization on a U.S. public stock exchange on which to focus your paper. The organization must be within the <\/span>healthcare<\/em>, <\/span>finance and banking<\/em>, or <\/span>retail <\/span><\/em>sectors. Apply critical thinking to appropriate sources to <\/span>determine the range of needs from the laws and regulations<\/strong> <\/span>applicable to your selected organization. <\/span>Include all industry, general, federal, state, and local laws and regulations that apply<\/strong>.<\/font><\/p>\n

Write a paper in which you:<\/font><\/p>\n

  1. Assemble the unified set of needs for the selected organization.<\/font><\/li>\n
  2. Select the best control source (more than one becomes difficult to manage) and advocate for the adoption of the control source that you selected.<\/font><\/li>\n
  3. Describe the process used to select specific controls. In your description, it may help to answer the following questions:<\/font>\n

    • How did you prioritize controls?<\/font><\/li>\n
    • How did you decide which was the \u201cbest control source\u201d?<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Create a table of controls matching the needs and the control\u2019s source (no more than one line per item, one might group controls for a need).<\/font><\/li>\n
    • Conclude with a brief <\/span>justification <\/span><\/em>of your approach and generated solutions and a discussion of <\/span>next steps<\/em> <\/span>(and possible implications). Your justifications and solutions should be supported by <\/span>scholarly resources<\/strong>, as well as appropriate <\/span>laws <\/span><\/strong>and <\/span>regulations<\/strong>.<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
