\n<\/span>related to the topic, literature sources\/authors (as citations), <\/span>a suitable theory, and an <\/span>APA correct reference <\/span>list. <\/span>Prepare
\na <\/span>1-2-page <\/span>only <\/span>(single sheet <\/span>b\/b) <\/span>document
\ndesign of your choice on your chosen topic. <\/span>Please
\nNO cover-page but put your name on the <\/span>document <\/span>where
\n<\/span>suitable. <\/span>Use <\/span>Pp <\/span>or <\/span>Word <\/span>or <\/span>any <\/span>other <\/span>graphic
\n<\/span>capable <\/span>program <\/span>at <\/span>your <\/span>disposal. <\/span>Avoid <\/span>using Excel
\nhowever <\/span>as it <\/span>has <\/span>word <\/span>processing <\/span>limitations.<\/p>\n

The map will include key
\nconcepts, theory, citations, and a reference list. <\/span>The literature map may <\/span>contain
\nMSLM textbooks but should contain a minimum of ten (10) scholarly sources
\n(recent within 10-15 <\/span>years) [?<\/span>hint: use mostly journal articles
\ni.e., empirical studies]. <\/span>Each
\nconcept should have at minimum <\/span>two <\/span>(2) citations for <\/span>comparing\/contrasting <\/span>later <\/span>in <\/span>the <\/span>literature <\/span>review.<\/p>\n

The literature map can be
\ncompleted graphically or as an outline. <\/span>Professional
\ncreativity is <\/span>encouraged. <\/span>The <\/span>literature <\/span>map <\/span>will <\/span>serve as
\n<\/span>an outline <\/span>for <\/span>the <\/span>development <\/span>of <\/span>Chapter <\/span>2: <\/span>Literature <\/span>Review of <\/span>the <\/span>Capstone.  <\/span>Samples are
\n<\/span>posted <\/span>on <\/span>Bb.<\/p>\n

Draft <\/span><\/span><\/i>Literature <\/span>Review <\/span>(15 <\/span>points) <\/span>                                                                                                              <\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Each student will prepare and
\nsubmit 4-6 full pages (\u00bb<\/span>1,500 words minimum<\/i>), APA formatted literature <\/span>review of their selected topic, with a
\nminimum of ten (10) scholarly sources (page count does not include <\/span>Reference page). <\/span>The usage of websites is to be restricted. <\/span>Chapter must include an Introduction <\/b>and a Conclusion <\/b>section. <\/span><\/b>These are minimum requirements that  <\/span><\/span>equate <\/span>to <\/span>a <\/span>B\/B- grade.<\/p>\n

The literature review will
\nprovide a general overview of the topic area, highlight themes or sub-topics, <\/span>and provide at least two perspectives
\nwithin the topic (dominate perspective\/proponents and minority <\/span>perspective\/opponents). <\/span>A literature review is source-driven, not
\nstudent opinion, nor should student <\/span>necessarily
\ndraw conclusions or propose recommendations.
\n<\/span>First person, as in I, we, my, us, our, must <\/span>not <\/span>be <\/span>used <\/span><\/i>in
\n<\/span>the <\/span>narrative.<\/p>\n

The <\/span>review <\/span>of the <\/span>literature is <\/span>your <\/span>way <\/span>of looking <\/span>for <\/span>the <\/span>gaps <\/span>in <\/span>the literature\/body <\/span>of <\/span>knowledge,
\nin <\/span>which you will find potential
\nresearch questions. <\/span>The literature
\nand studies on your selected topic are to <\/span>be
\ncompared\/contrasted in a formal and purposeful piece of writing. <\/span>You will be arguing the relevance <\/span>and significance of your topic and the
\nrecent research that has been conducted. <\/span>Your
\nwriting will argue <\/span>the relevance
\ninto an argumentative piece of literature. <\/span>You
\nwill argue that the body of literature, as it
\n<\/span>stands, <\/span>would <\/span>be supplemented <\/span>by <\/span>a <\/span>study <\/span>in <\/span>the direction <\/span>you <\/span>care <\/span>to <\/span>take
\nyour research.<\/p>\n

Student will identify at least
\none (1) theory that is suitable and associated with the chosen topic <\/span>(examples: <\/span>contingency <\/span>theory, <\/span>generation <\/span>theory, <\/span>complexity <\/span>theory,
\n<\/span>group <\/span>dynamics <\/span>theory,
\n<\/span>spirituality <\/span>theory, <\/span>stigma theory, <\/span>etc. <\/span>(see <\/span>Bb for
\n<\/span>additional <\/span>theory <\/span>resources
\n<\/span>in <\/span>the <\/span>Course <\/span>Documents <\/span>tab).<\/p>\n
