It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Elaine Gonzalez, who is 39 years old. I hold an Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant. My profession is that of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. In a Pediatric Occupational Therapy setting, I have had the privilege of working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and other conditions. With my fourth term of classes, currently in Fall 2023, I will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology-Applied Behavior Analysis. As a career path, I am considering ABA Therapy to help people with autism. Looking forward to taking a step toward becoming an even better version of myself. Mom to two boys, ages 4 and 7. Describing myself is not always easy for me, but I can summarize some of my qualities and characteristics as follows: adventurous, observant, organized, and passionate about my family. I enjoy hosting family and friends, traveling, and going to wine tastings to unwind and enjoy life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

My name is Susana Martin, I was born in Cuba, raised in Spain and I came to Miami when I was fifteen. I\u2019m 33 years old. I work as an occupational therapist assistant, a therapy field I found in love with five years ago. This is my fourth semester at Carlos Albizu University, hopefully by next semester I should be able to finish my major in Psychology with a minor in behavior analysis. I\u2019m passionate about my profession and mental health education. I try to balance my life between a full-time student, a professional and a full-time mom. I have two boys, they are 7 and 11 years old, so overall my life is very busy most of the time. I\u2019m looking forward to a great semester with all of you.<\/span><\/p>\n

My favorite behavior intervention procedure is Functional Communication Training (FCT)<\/span><\/p>\n

FCT is used by ABA therapists to acknowledge an undisciplined behavior and supplant it with a more socially acceptable form of communication. Children under the spectrum may use disruptive behaviors as a way to ask for something or implement them as a reaction to a certain situation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hi, My name is Mabel Rodriguez. I am very excited to be part of this class. This class is essential for the path I have chosen, which is behavior analysis. I am already a registered behavior technician and want to become a Behavior analyst.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of my favorite behavior interventions is FCT or Functional Communication Training. I like this intervention because you teach the client to use communication to communicate their needs. I used assessment, Replacement behavior, teaching, Positive reinforcement, and generalization in these interventions. <\/span><\/p>\n

FCT is considered an evidence-based practice and is widely used in the field of behavior analysis and special education due to its effectiveness in improving communication skills and reducing problem behaviors in individuals with communication challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n
